Bis is a teenager in gargoyle years, but in human years is 50 years old, who lives in the Vampiric Charms church. He pays rent to Jenks by patrolling during the four hours the pixies sleep. Bis used to live at the Basillica but was thrown out by the other gargoyles for spitting on passersby (Jenks thinks this is hilarious and it's probably the reason he lets Bis stay for such an easy rent). It is clear that Bis has begun bonding with Rachel, a process that means he will always be able to sense she needs him to find and help her, though he is apparently doing it at a much younger age than normal. He is very useful to Rachel as he can help her jump ley lines, but when he goes to sleep for the day, there's no chance of waking him up until nightfall.
Bis eats pigeons (whole) and stone, and can tell alot about a type of rock by tasting it. He can also act as a space heater/ light
